The Eight Count offers a wide variety of dance styles for any age and commitment level in order to provide you with an option to try before committing to our Recital program. 

 This is why we offer our Recreational Program as you can take one class or as many as you wish.


We believe you are never to young or old to be part of a dance class.

Within this program we provide the opportunity to our Recreational dancers to participate in classes that are joined with our Recital dancers which will offer an easy transition to join us for our annual recital in June. ​

Appropriate attire & footwear must be worn for all styles of dance.

This 30-minute class is designed for girls and boys, ages 3-5 as an introduction to both Ballet & Jazz. This class teaches students basic skills with all of the fun and faced-paced elements of a creative movement class!         

Students learn about music, movement and rhythm while listening and working together.


In Ballet, we focus on barre work, stretching and strengthening, center work, and across the floor progressions. Within these exercises, we aim to encourage artistry, musicality, flexibility, strength, and dedication.

The curriculum is taught with various styles of Ballet technique and taught in an  engaging way that promotes the joy of movement and creative expression. 

All classes are 45 minutes in length.


Jazz classes stress a variety of movement styles from high energy, funky styles to lyrical and expressive styles.

It emphasize body line, precision, flexible torso work, isolations of the body, and turns.

Classes include a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and various Jazz dance combinations.

All classes are 45 minutes in length.


Get ready to move and groove to the latest music in our Hip Hop classes.  

Dancers learn to pop and lock, bounce, wave and body roll all while engaging and strengthening our muscles.

We will also focus on learning choreography and developing performance skills which really boost self confidence.

All classes are 45 minutes in length.


Beginner acrobats work on foundational skills such as handstands and cartwheels.

Acrobatics is an exciting dance style that combines the technique and artistry of dance with flexibility, balance and tumbling skills of gymnastics.

Acro not a typical tumbling or gymnastics class.

This class is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility, & strength.

All classes are 45 minutes in length.


Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, classical ballet and even hip-hop.

Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and body through their movement. 

Available to ages 11 and up.
